Terms of Service

The short version.

• Your reminder data stays on your Mac. We never see it.
• Pro is a one-time $19 USD purchase (direct from this site). No subscription, no recurring charges. Prefer Setapp? GlassNudge is a standalone, one-time purchase there that includes everything Pro offers; Setapp (MacPaw) handles billing and refunds.
• Disputes are handled in Ontario, Canada. We will try to sort things out informally first.
• AI features use your own API key. You pay your provider directly. We never see your key or your AI requests.
• The app is provided as-is. We do not guarantee it will be bug-free or that reminders will always fire on time.

Welcome to GlassNudge. By downloading, installing, or using the GlassNudge software application (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

GlassNudge is built and maintained by a solo developer in Ontario, Canada. Throughout these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer.

GlassNudge is available in two ways: as a direct download from this website, and as a standalone, one-time purchase on the Setapp marketplace, operated by MacPaw. These Terms apply to the GlassNudge app itself on both channels. If you buy GlassNudge through Setapp, your purchase is additionally governed by Setapp's own Terms of Use, which handle the transaction, billing, and refunds (see Section 5).

1. About GlassNudge

GlassNudge is a desktop reminder app for macOS. It shows full-screen reminders so you do not miss things. The App runs locally on your Mac and does not need an account.

The App asks for certain macOS permissions to do its job: Accessibility access (so it can display reminders over your screen) and Notification permissions (so it can schedule alerts). You decide whether to grant them. We cannot see your screen or access anything through these permissions.

2. License

You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use GlassNudge for personal or professional use on Mac computers you own or control. The free version has feature limits (described below). You can use it at no cost.

3. Free and Pro Versions

The App has a free tier and a paid Pro tier:

• Free ($0): Up to 3 active reminders at a time. Full-screen takeover. Short-term and long-term reminders. Everything stays on your Mac.
• Pro ($19 USD, one-time): Unlimited reminders. Quiet hours with multiple schedules. Custom snooze times. Pause all reminders. Everything in Free. Pay once, no subscription.

Pro upgrades for direct purchases are processed through LemonSqueezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. See Section 4.

On Setapp, GlassNudge is a standalone, one-time purchase that includes everything Pro offers. Buying it on the Setapp marketplace activates all Pro features. There is no separate purchase and no license key.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Direct purchases from this website (LemonSqueezy as Merchant of Record)

When you buy GlassNudge Pro directly from this website, you are buying from LemonSqueezy, not from the developer directly. LemonSqueezy is the Merchant of Record (MoR). In practice this means:

• LemonSqueezy handles tax collection and remittance.
• Your receipt and order confirmation come from LemonSqueezy.
• LemonSqueezy's own Terms and Privacy Policy apply to the transaction.

Prices are in US Dollars. Tax is calculated and shown at checkout by LemonSqueezy.

Setapp purchases (MacPaw as merchant of record)

If you buy GlassNudge through Setapp, the purchase is with Setapp (MacPaw). MacPaw is the merchant of record for the Setapp service: it collects payment, delivers the app to you, and handles order management and refunds. We do not bill you for Setapp, and we do not process Setapp refunds. See Section 5 and the Refund Policy.

5. Distribution through Setapp

GlassNudge is available as a standalone, one-time purchase on the Setapp marketplace, operated by MacPaw (MacPaw Way Ltd). This section explains how Setapp and these Terms fit together.

• Setapp's Terms of Use apply to your Setapp purchase. Your use of GlassNudge obtained through Setapp is also governed by Setapp's Terms of Use, including its rules on the Setapp service and disputes. Where these Terms and Setapp's Terms conflict, Setapp's Terms, rules, and policies prevail.
• A standalone Setapp purchase includes everything Pro offers. Buying GlassNudge once on the Setapp marketplace activates all the Pro features described in Section 3. There is no separate purchase.
• No license key. Setapp's review guidelines do not permit apps that require license keys or implement their own copy protection. Consistent with that, the Setapp version of GlassNudge never asks for a license key and performs no license checks.
• Updates come through Setapp. The Setapp version updates through the Setapp app; it does not use the standalone updater.
• Refunds go through Setapp. If you buy GlassNudge on the Setapp marketplace, refunds are handled by Setapp under its Refund Policy, not by us. See the Refund Policy on this site for details.
• MacPaw is not a party to these Terms. Consistent with Setapp's Terms of Use, MacPaw is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the GlassNudge app itself or for these Terms. The app is our responsibility; the Setapp service is theirs.

6. Acceptable Use

We trust you to use GlassNudge in good faith. Here is where we draw the line:

• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Do not distribute, resell, or sublicense the App to others.
• Do not use the App for anything illegal.
• Do not bypass the App's licensing or payment checks.

7. Privacy and Data

Your reminders live in a local database on your Mac. They are never sent to us. We cannot see them, we do not want to see them.

Our website uses Vercel Web Analytics for basic traffic stats. No cookies, no personal data. You can opt out of analytics any time.

8. AI Features and Third-Party Providers

GlassNudge Pro includes optional AI-powered features (such as natural language reminder parsing). These features work by sending the text you type to an AI provider's API. You must provide your own API key from a provider of your choice.

• Your key, your bill. You configure your own API key from a third-party AI provider (such as Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic). You are responsible for any costs charged by that provider. GlassNudge does not charge you for AI features, does not resell API access, and does not add any markup. We have no business relationship with the providers listed in our setup guide.
• Your key stays local. Your API key is stored in a plain-text configuration file on your Mac (~/.glassnudge/settings.json). It is only transmitted to the AI provider you selected, over HTTPS, when you submit a reminder. It is never sent to GlassNudge servers. We do not have access to it.
• What is sent. Only the reminder text you type is sent to the AI provider. Your existing reminders, settings, and other personal data are not included.
• No guarantees about AI output. AI parsing may produce incorrect results. The feature is provided as a convenience. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated reminder details before they are saved.
• Provider terms apply. Your use of any third-party AI provider is subject to that provider's own terms of service, privacy policy, and data handling practices. We recommend reviewing them. GlassNudge is not responsible for how a provider handles your data.
• Setup guide. Instructions for configuring several common providers are at glassnudge.app/ai-setup.

9. Intellectual Property

The GlassNudge name, logo, design, and code belong to the developer. Rights not explicitly granted here are reserved.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, about merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise the App will be error-free, always available, or that reminders will always trigger on time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including missed reminders, lost data, lost revenue, or any damages from using or being unable to use the App.

Our total liability will never exceed the amount you paid for GlassNudge Pro.

12. Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong, email us first. Most issues are easy to solve. If we cannot work it out informally, disputes will go to binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada, or to small claims court in Ontario (at either party's choice). You agree to handle disputes on your own, not as part of a class action.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. The latest version will always be on this page with the date updated. If we make a big change we will try to let you know through the App or the website. Using the App after a change means you accept the new Terms.
